Alaa Albagain Manager – Medical Insurance Department
Alaa Albagain joined JICO in October 2024 as the Medical Insurance Manager, bringing with him over 16 years of extensive experience in the life and medical insurance industry. With a strong background in underwriting and team leadership, Alaa plays a vital role in managing the medical insurance portfolio, ensuring that JICO continues to deliver reliable and high-quality service to its clients. His dedication and client-centric approach have positioned him as a key player in enhancing the company’s medical insurance offerings.
Alaa holds a bachelor’s in risk management and insurance from Hashemite University. Additionally, he has earned a Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK and an Intermediate Insurance Diploma from BIBF, which reinforces his technical expertise. Colleagues know him as disciplined and punctual, often being the first to arrive at the office—a testament to his strong work ethic.
Throughout his career, Alaa has held significant roles in the insurance sector. He began as a Technical Underwriter in the Individual Medical and Life Insurance department at Al Nisr Al Arabi Insurance Company, managing Bancassurance products and building a strong foundation in underwriting. He then moved to Euro Arab Insurance Company as a Life Insurance Supervisor, where he led a team focused on achieving departmental underwriting KPIs. Most recently, he served as a Senior Medical Underwriter at Jordan Insurance Company, overseeing a team responsible for managing medical insurance policies from brokers, which further refined his skills in underwriting, client relations, and team management.
One of Alaa’s proudest accomplishments was his participation in the Leadership Academy in Komoto, Japan, where he joined over 200 participants from more than 70 countries. This experience not only strengthened his leadership abilities but also allowed him to form valuable friendships across the globe, enriching both his personal and professional life.
Beyond his professional role, Alaa is passionate about training others and holds a Train the Trainer (TOT) certificate. He enjoys cooking and spending time in peaceful settings to relax and recharge. A fun fact about Alaa is that he considers himself a tie enthusiast, collecting ties that reflect his unique personality and style.
