Nabil Abu Atta Member – Board of Directors

Nabil Yousif Abu Atta is the Chief Executive Officer of “Shams Communications,” the first pioneering privately owned solar power plant in Jordan, covering approximately 65% of the energy needs of the Kingdom’s largest telecommunications company.

He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University (Edward S. Mason Fellow) and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. He is also an Aspen Institute Fellow and serves as a board member of Al-Quds Insurance and Babel Gardens Public Shareholding Company.

Abu Atta’s strategic expertise in large-scale project financing was demonstrated during his role as Director of Investment and Strategy at Kawar Group, where he led financial negotiations and structured alliances for major national infrastructure projects. He also made key advisory contributions, most notably developing the operations manual for the Innovative Startups and SMEs Fund (ISSF), affiliated with the World Bank and the Central Bank of Jordan.

He is recognized as an active investor and mentor in high-growth companies, with a strong track record of successful exits in fintech and e-commerce, in addition to investments in innovative technologies, particularly in the water sector. Beyond his investment footprint, he led a significant transformation in the sports and community sectors during his more than seven years as Secretary General of the Jordan Basketball Federation, successfully qualifying national teams to the FIBA World Cup four times and securing impactful sponsorships that strengthened the sports economy. He also founded the “101 for Amman” initiative, aimed at enhancing civic participation in urban planning and city management.
