Jerusalem Insurance Launches “Khuta Al-Quds” Initiative to Enhance a Safe Tourism Environment

December 18, 2022

The idea behind the “Khuta Al-Quds” initiative, launched by Jerusalem Insurance, stemmed from the company’s belief that everyone has the right to access and appreciate national heritage. It aimed to provide equal opportunities for all members of society to enjoy the rich archaeological sites across Jordan.

As part of this initiative, Jerusalem Insurance has donated four electric wheelchairs for individuals with disabilities and the elderly, to be distributed across several local tourist sites. This step reflects the company’s awareness and commitment to its social responsibility, as well as its belief in the importance of Jordan’s tourism sector and its pivotal role in economic growth.

Dr. Imad Hijazin, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, praised the initiative for its role in fostering solidarity, serving the community, and promoting national heritage. He highlighted its contribution to helping people explore and enjoy Jordan’s historical sites while increasing visitor numbers, empowering these groups, and ensuring equality.

Jerusalem Insurance has agreed with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to distribute these electric wheelchairs in Jerash and Jabal Al-Qala’a in Amman—two sites known for high tourist activity. The goal is to provide a safe and accessible environment for elderly visitors and individuals with disabilities, enabling them to enjoy these historical sites without difficulty. This effort is being carried out in collaboration with the “Naua” platform, one of the Crown Prince Foundation’s initiatives.
