Al-Wakeel News Agency – In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Jerusalem Insurance organized a special iftar gathering that brought together 20 breast cancer survivors along with the company’s employees. This initiative aimed to support the survivors and raise awareness about the importance of early detection.
The event featured an open discussion between the survivors and employees, during which the women shared their personal experiences with cancer, detailing their journeys through treatment until full recovery. They also provided valuable advice, emphasizing the crucial role of early breast cancer screening, which played a vital part in saving their lives.
During the discussion, the survivors highlighted the “Raya” insurance program, offered by the King Hussein Cancer Center, which Jerusalem Insurance provides to all its employees due to its significance in raising awareness and serving as a proactive step in the fight against the disease.
This initiative is part of Jerusalem’s Insurance broader community engagement plan, executed through its social committee, “Ahluna.” The committee focuses on various aspects of sustainable development and reinforces the company’s role in serving the community.
It is worth noting that October is globally recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, during which landmarks around the world are illuminated in pink to symbolize this cause and increase public awareness. Throughout this month, numerous awareness events are organized in collaboration with local community institutions and the King Hussein Cancer Center.
Additionally, the Jordanian Breast Cancer Program arranges multiple awareness activities during this period to stress the importance of early detection. This year’s campaign is themed “Tassawarti” (Have You Been Screened?), highlighting the significance of mammograms as the most effective method for early breast cancer detection.
